South Korea (Seoul) again – with a 10 month old baby and a 3.5 year old toddler

It’s my third time to Seoul, South Korea. This time, the trip was a pretty long one, (two weeks). We travelled from Seoul 서울 to Jeonju 전주 to Busan 부산 then back to Seoul from 31 May to 15 June. The trip was very child-friendly, filled with fun places for young kids. Though nothing much for my little brother, he was enjoying himself too.

We started the trip with a red eye flight by Singapore Airline (SQ8). My first business class experience on a Boeing 777-300ER was amazing. Before boarding, we had the time to rest in the Business Class Lounge.

Our seats were located on the first row but we didn’t board first. We took our time and strolled to the gate. The seats were wide and we could lie flat to sleep. I got a goodie bag from SQ too! I loved the available entertainment choices and watched The LEGO Movie.

Mummy chose “book a cook” as our inflight meal. Yummy!

We arrived in the morning. I didn’t really sleep much. I might have enjoyed more if it was a day flight. But mummy said day flights were all A320 and business class was not as good. Lol. My 이모 came fetch us to our temporary home in Seoul and I had omelette rice as my first meal in Seoul.

My first flight + Bali Trip Day 1 Kuta

Mama has been reminded and warned by many friends about bringing an infant for a flight. Many sounded very traumatizing and hostile. Mama was brave and grandma was calm. That’s why I could have my first holiday trip by plane at 3 months old.

I received my passport even before I turned one month old. Mama had her plan. I love to be at the airport!

Daddy carried me like a kangaroo mama! We are a happy family! This was my first time inside the gate for flight departure.

We took Tigerair to Bali at 10.20am on 21 March 2014 from Singapore. The flight took 2.5hours. There was no time difference between Bali and Singapore. The flight was very full, so everyone was separated. Luckily, daddy and mummy managed to change seats and sat together. Grandma was separated from us. I was in a good mood in daddy’s carrier till the stewardess asked me to put on my baby seatbelt. I was forced to get out of the carrier while daddy was trying to figure out how to operate the seatbelt system. I was pretty uncomfortable and screamed to voice out my unhappiness. But for my own safety I had to wear the seatbelt. The Russian grandpa besides us looked at me pitifully. The air pressure added to my uncomfortableness. I had some breastmilk and fell asleep after a while. I slept through the entire journey in my mummy’s arm.

Zzzzzz….

The first custom stamp I got was from Indonesia. Bali was really hot and sunny. The airport was still under construction. We booked our stay at The Bene hotel in Kuta. We reserved a shuttle to pick us up at the airport. The hotel is not very near the sea. A short 5 minutes walk is needed. Kuta beach is famous for surfing. That’s why we could see so many people carrying surfing boards while walking or driving scooters. The hotel is neat and clean and it’s not the typical Balinese style hotel. The room is spacious and they provided me a baby cot upon request.

It was quite late after we settled down in the hotel. We ended the day by walking along the Kuta beach and watching surfers enjoying the waves as the fiery red ball dipped towards the horizon. A memorable day indeed (for my parents but not me). =)
